2024 1UP Conference
Thank you everyone who participated this year!
The 2024 conference theme was Thrive: Planning The Year-Round City, representing a dialogue between youth and city builders about how indoor and outdoor public spaces might bring joy, wellbeing and happiness to everyone, all year round. We explored how to design and plan for improving the collective wellbeing of residents, young and old.

Design Jam Challenge: Downsview Airport Lands
In partnership with Northcrest Developments, this year’s Design Jam challenge was focused on the Downsview Airport Lands!
“It’s hard to imagine 370 acres of undeveloped land in the heart of Toronto. Northcrest is leading the transformation of the Downsview Airport Lands, creating diverse communities where current and future generations can prosper and thrive. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to create a city, within a city.”
Participants at the 1UP Toronto Conference were tasked with reimagining a part of this former airfield – and they blew it out of the park!
