architects—Alliance​ hosted students in a tour of their contemporary office in Downtown Toronto. The team at a—A presented to students a day in the life of an Architect, including a tour of the firm’s 3D printing space to highlight their projects. This space demonstrated to students how buildings and their environments can be perceived tangibly while in the consultation phase. Then, an outdoor activity led by staff gave students insights on the thought process behind architectural concepts and design principles. To accommodate the students’ visit, a—A provided a free lunch to all participants.

O2 Planning and Design hosted a fun and interactive tour at their office, diving into city-building careers. Staff from various fields, including urban planning, design, community engagement, and landscape architecture, presented a hypothetical project, and the order of which each team member would proceed in. Each expert took turns explaining their role, sparking discussions and asking students questions like how to redesign a waterlogged park area. The session, paired with a free lunch, gave students a glimpse into collaboration seen in urban planning.
