Design Jam Challenge: Designing Safe and Accessible TTC Waiting Spaces
In partnership with Toronto Transit Commission (TTC)
In partnership with the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC), this year’s Design Jam invited participants to rethink the everyday transit experience across the city.
The challenge was divided into three focus areas: bus stops, streetcar stops, and subway stations. The groups were designed with unique user personas in mind, where participants creates spaces that reflect the diverse needs of Toronto’s riders.
But great transit designs require considerations of accessibility, safety, and creating inclusive, user-centered environments that better serve the people who rely on them every day.
At the 1UP Conference, participants had the opportunity to bring fresh ideas to life, reimagining how transit spaces can be more functional, welcoming, and impactful for all.
